Our Stories Matter: Building Bridges from Illness to Wellness is a transformative art event taking place during Mental Health Awareness Month in Charlotte, NC, FY25. Featuring a massive "string art" bridge made of "golden threads of hope," the exhibition symbolizes personal stories of courage and recovery. Attendees will help build the bridge, engage in immersive experiences, and participate in empowering workshops, contributing to a movement that redefines mental health and reduces stigma. "It is my hope that through a powerful blend of interactive installations, storytelling, and immersive experiences, this project will foster understanding and empathy for individuals facing mental health challenges." Artist, Creative Director A'SA Eden.
North Carolina faces a significant mental health crisis, with suicide being the third leading cause of death for ages 10-24, and over 1,400 suicides annually. This growing epidemic underscores the urgent need for innovative solutions.
Your Stories Matter: Building Bridges from Illness to Wellness, addresses this by creating a safe space for dialogue, empathy, and healing, using art to share stories of hope and resilience and empower individuals to seek help and connect with others.
